The Florida Business Brokers Association was founded in 1985 as a non-profit association to improve and upgrade the business brokerage profession throughout the State of Florida.  What is a Florida Business Broker? A Florida Business Broker helps people buy or sell a business. This includes retail shops, restaurants, franchises, service businesses like distributing and printing, all kinds of manufacturing, laundries and many more.

A Florida Business Broker may also help people with mergers and acquisitions, the legal aspects of buying or selling a business, the tax implications of buying or selling a business, selling your business as a stock or an asset, and much more.

The Florida Business Brokers Association was created to:

  • Adopt and promote a Code of Ethics for Business Brokers commensurate with being Members in the Business Brokerage Profession;
  • Promote a greater understanding and awareness by its Membership as to their duties and responsibilities;
  • Adopt and operate a Grievance Procedure and Arbitration System to judge infractions of its rules and/or to resolve disputes amicably;
  • Promote cooperation and exchange of information between and among Members;
  • Standardize procedures and forms;
  • Encourage legislation that would enhance the professionalism and education of those involved in the transfer of businesses.
